Whats Going On In the Library

I realize it’s been two weeks since I last blogged! YIKES. The end of the school year is always crazy. Drama Club has their final production, graduation, closing out the library. Basically all kinds of endings that keep me really busy! By the way, I hate endings. They make me really sad. I promise this isn’t going to be a depressing post because I do have some exciting library news. But, before I get to that I just have to say congratulations to our wonderful 8th graders! I spent the day with them at Disneyland yesterday and they were so well behaved and fun! Just now the 8th grade Student Council did their final morning announcements. Listening to them, knowing that our school helped shape them and is now sending them on their way made me very proud. So and ending for me, saying goodbye  but a beginning for them, hello high school! It’s true what they say, when one door closes another one opens.

Ok, sentiment over! Now for the exciting library news! We received a TON of new books! Receiving books is just like waking up on Christmas morning! I promise there is nothing more thrilling than four boxes being delivered to the library. Even though they came in a week and a half ago I am still getting excited writing about it.

Four boxes and a mini box of fun fun fun!

The only problem is that I expected these books to arrive over a month ago. I’m sad that they came right at the end of the school year when no one will be able to check them out. I’ve put them on display (kinda) so everyone can look at them. Last week I worked fervently to get some of them into the catalog and ready for check out. But for the most part the books won’t be read until next school year.

If you didn’t notice, these books came from Mrs. Nelson’s Library Services. Which means we used the money earned from the Book Fair to purchase them. I love that your support of the book fair is translated directly into books for the library. Because of YOU we were able to purchase almost $5,000 worth of books or 223 books!

In other news, the genrefication of the library is slowly chugging along. While you lovelies are on summer break I plan on finishing this project! This is what we have done so far.

And just because, this is how busy I am … too busy to even keep my desk organized.
